Bio

Eric's exposure to martial arts began with the local wrestling programs in grade school.  Wrestling for 10 years led him to the Idaho State A-2 Wrestling Championships his Junior and Senior years in High School where he placed 4th and 5th, respectively, in his weight class.  Part of the wrestling program at his high school invovled going to the area grade schools for two months after the state tournament and teaching interested grade schoolers how to wrestle, culminating in a tournament where the kids were able to showcase their newly-learned skills for parents and friends.  Participating in that program allowed Eric to share his love for wrestling with others and helped him "learn by teaching."

His next experiences with martial arts involved helping his two oldest sons with their forms and strikes for TaeKwon Do.  While fun and interesting to learn, doing forms for the sake of forms did not appeal to him so his search began for a simpler, more basic system.  That search lead to Krav Maga.  Limited at first to learning about Krav Maga on the Internet and through books, Eric researched as much as he could until March of 2009 when he saw the banner announcing a Krav Maga school opening in Lehi, UT.  Attending the first open house led by Joseph Gleed convinced Eric that this was the system he had been looking for so he joined the school and began learning what he didn't know.  He was privileged to be invited to the instructor course and attained Level 1 Instructor status.  Eric has also had the opportunity to train and certify with Grandmaster Toddy of Thailand as a Muay Thai Trainer.  Eric strives to continue learning and enjoys sharing the system with all that will listen.  Even if they don't listen willingly.
