Michael Hoy

Bio

Michael's first real exposure to the martial arts came when he was 14 and trained with Ed Parker's American Kenpo. After training for a number of years he moved on to Muay Thai kickboxing training under Master Trainer Sakasem Kanthawong. Although he enjoyed the sport and hand to hand aspect of Muay Thai, he always felt that something was lacking and often asked the question "What if this happens in the street?"

Always looking for more, he finally found what he was looking for in Krav Maga. Loving the practicality and directness and not having to worry about getting caught up in "traditional thinking" Michael soon earned his instructor's certification through John Whitman and the Krav Maga Alliance. Knowing that if you want to be the best, you have to train with the best, he soon found Joseph Gleed. Right away he knew that he found the style and the instructor he was looking for. He continues to train with Joseph to this day and has recently completed his instructor's certification through Mr. Gleed as well.

He has a passion for teaching and brings great energy and excitement to his classes. He enjoys "spreading the gospel of Krav Maga" to anyone that is willing to listen and looks forward to teaching others so that they too, "may walk in peace".
